Outpatient Rehabilitation Physical Therapist Assistant - Position 1


Job Summary

  • 1st Classen Physical Therapy is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Job Requirements

  • Associates in Physical Therapy Assistant required.

  • Current & valid license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Texas.

  • Current & valid BLS certification.

  • Minimum 1 year PTA experience.

  • Provide physical therapy treatment and patient care according to outpatient, state and federal regulations and professional guidelines.

  • Implements treatment programs as established by the supervising Physical Therapist. 

  • Communicates and records patient's response to treatment plan, completing SOAP note to supervisor.

  • Monitors patient's progress and modify treatments as allowed by the plan of care, recognizing complications/limitations associated with certain procedures. 

  • Collaborates and communicates with supervising therapist and other health care staff modifications to patient's treatment process, progress, and discharge planning.

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.

  • Maintain open and ongoing communication with all departments to ensure that patient, staff and hospital needs are met.

  • Must be savvy with computers, phones, software, and the internet.

  • Demonstrated competence in physical therapy treatment.

  • Ensures all rehabilitation equipment is in safe working order prior to use on patients, reports any malfunctions to management and regularly practices preventive maintenance procedures.

  • Subject to random drug testing without notice.

  • Team player responsibilities including:

    • Represent the company inside and outside the office with professional demeanor.

    • Comfortable talking with patients, families, doctor’s offices, and other medical staff including front desk and billing if needed.

    • Helping communicate between patients and front desk representatives, directing patients to front staff for scheduling, bill paying, and insurance questions.

    • Seeks opportunities to expand learning beyond baseline competencies with a focus on continual development as a Physical Therapist Assistant and of leadership skills.

    • Data entry, HIPAA compliant EMR entry, and electronic entry/correspondence.

    • Special Projects as Assigned.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication English (Spanish plus).

  • We have two outpatient physical therapy clinics motivated to help people get back to the life they enjoy living. 

  • Currently two front desk receptionists, and 2 billing companies, working with 2 full time therapists and 1 part time therapist with a combined 30 years of experience in the health and wellness industry.

  • We specialize in orthopedics, pre-post surgery, autoimmunes (ie connective tissue, EDS, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, RA), pelvic floor therapy, balance, spine, sports, biomechanical foot evaluations, vertigo, and more. 

  • Our patients' ages range from 12 yo to 100 yo and all visits are at least 45 mins to 1 hour.

  • We are one-on-one with the therapist, for excellent outcomes.
