Mattress & Topper

Most people don't know that low back pain when you wake up can be caused by your mattress. If your mattress is not medium foam, you can have divots in the mattress. It is usually recommended by the mattress company to rotate or flip the mattress every 6 months to 1 year to avoid this. American made mattress do not produce with fiberglass and is usually the gold standard for mattress shopping. The first thing we do is drag a mattress across the floor to put it on the bed or drag it to rotate it and can get fiberglass in the HVAC. We recommend starting your research with Sleep Innovations for mattress & topper.

Compression Stockings

This tool is good for lymphedema, pre-surgery, and post-surgical edema. Typically, doctors are pulling back from using stockings because the top rubber part is known to cause skin irritation, blisters, and tears post op. This type of compression stocking has a silicone top to prevent this. Another technique is to cut the top band portion perpendicular to the stocking in one spot (not all the way around or off the stocking), and then rolling it down off the skin to prevent irritation. Stockings should be worn if leg is generally swollen or has reduced mobility (surgery).            Be sure to select the correct size.
